School Mission Statement

Virginia Intermont College is a liberal arts-based, baccalaureate-granting institution serving traditional students in its professional programs and in its humanities, arts, social science and natural science curricula. Virginia Intermont also serves the educational needs of its regional adult population through its Evening and Weekend College. The college is dedicated to delivering to all of its students an educational experience in which critical thinking, creativity, oral and written communication and cultural appreciation are fundamental components. Virginia Intermont strives in its service to its students to create an atmosphere conducive to intellectual, spiritual, physical, social, aesthetic, and professional development. Virginia Intermont, affiliated with the Baptist General Association of Virginia, affirms a commitment to Judeo-Christian values in an atmosphere of religious freedom and diversity.
